Using Carrageenan for our Capsule Shell

After much research and consideration, we decided to incorporate carrageenan, a natural polysaccharide extracted from seaweed, into the capsule shells of our products. Carrageenan offers several notable benefits that align with our goals for product safety, efficacy, and consumer experience.

Natural Origin and Sustainability

One of the primary reasons for selecting carrageenan is its natural origin. Extracted from red seaweed, carrageenan is a renewable resource that underscores our commitment to sustainability. The use of a plant-based material for our capsules is important for reducing our environmental footprint and catering to the preferences of consumers looking for natural and eco-friendly products. This decision reflects our broader ethos of environmental responsibility and alignment with consumer values.

Stability

Carrageenan stands out for its ability to form stable, strong gel structures ensuring the integrity of the capsule shell, and maintaining the quality and efficacy of our fermented cod liver oil

Consumer Safety and Acceptability

The safety profile of carrageenan has been a subject of careful consideration. Recognized as safe for use in food and supplement products by regulatory agencies, carrageenan is well-tolerated by most individuals. Its long history of use in food products provides a foundation of consumer familiarity and acceptability. By choosing carrageenan, we aim to offer products that are not only effective but also safe and trusted by our consumers.

    Hello
For years I have been taking Blue Ice fermented cod liver oil capsules. Very beneficial. However the price has become too high. Recently I ordered your Amorica product as it compared favourably and a much lower price and UK based. I did wonder after, if your product was genuine? But then reading about your toxin filtering I realised that it is probably superior to many others. The amount of supporting literature on your website is impressive. I live on the south coast but maybe I can visit your factory one day. kind regards Peter
